Victory Ventures Acquires New Gold & Copper Properties (Dec 14, 2011)

The Copau Gold & Copper properties are approximately 11 kilometers to the south of Imperial Metals Corporation’s Red Chris copper deposit. Imperial Metals is working towards development of a 30,000 ton per day open pit mine.

Reserves of over 300 million tonnes grading 0.359% copper and 0.274 g/t gold provide for a 28 year project life at a milling rate of 30,000 tonnes per day.
The Red Chris ore body is exposed at surface resulting in a comparatively limited pre production phase.
Recovered metal in concentrate would total 2.08 billion lbs copper and 1.324 million oz gold.

Quick Facts about Victory Ventures

Victory’s Copau properties are crossed by a main gravel road extending eastward toward the old BC rail line.

Mapping by the BC Geological Survey in 1994 led to the discovery of the B31 copper showing, in which magnetite, chalcopyrite and lesser pyrite occur in proximity to fractures and cataclastic microstructures within a small syenitic stock.

A magnetometer survey outlined a prominent magnetic anomaly trending northwestward from the showing.

The property, which has not been drilled, is prospective for: Alakalic copper gold porphyry, or Skarn hosted copper gold mineralization.

An exploration and drilling program is expected in spring of 2012.

Penny Stock Profile: Lakeside Steel

Lakeside Steel is an oil and gas play however they are what many savvy investors look at are the ones making money regardless of the profitability of the companies trying to discover the stuff. They are in the oil and gas services industry. They are manufacturing pipe and mechanical tubing products. Currently they are based in Ontario but are looking at expanding south of the border. Setting up a sales office in Houston is one step in part of their strategy to expand in the oil and gas services industry in the US.

Here are two videos that you might find interesting and will give you a background into what their company is all about and give you a sense of the overall strategy they have to grow their company and returns to the shareholders.

The second video is a CEO clip from Lakeside Steel CEO Ron Bedard.

From a technical analysis perspective the company appears to have hit a double top which is traditionally seen as a reversal and indeed in this case they have come off the highs in the $0.60 range and are now trading at $0.44. There is considerable support at the $0.38 level, so that will be something to watch out for in the future as the price does continue downward.

Silverquest Resources is a company that’s had some buzz as of late. It’s time for me to get down to business and doing some research on this Canadian penny stock. They’re working in the Yukon and are the 4th largest landholder. Here’s a youtube video that you may find interesting on getting started.

SQI is a Canadian penny stock that is certainly tied to the price of silver and gold since that is their primary objective, but given that there is a new gold rush going on in the Yukon, they would be in a position to benefit from this if the source is found.

Catch the Wind develops and manufactures laser based wind sensor systems with a primary focus on developing technology to serve the wind power generation industry. Their goal is to be the leader in fiber-optic laser technology in the wind energy industry. They want to make a cleaner, more productive world, which isn’t a bad thing.

These is another one of the green trend companies that are a play tied to the price of oil. There is a psychological barrier with oil at $100 barrel and prices at the pump moving higher all the time. Alternative companies begin to get a little more attention.

Catch the Wind has had a tremendous run up in the past month and it might be too late to trade profitably at this point, but it’s worth researching based on the fundamentals of what they’re doing and find a good entry point based on your research.

Update On GWG

Followers of this blog know about Great Western Mineral Group and owners of the company have been very happy with the stock performance over the past 3 months. They have a consistent vision that they’re working towards and are positioned well to deliver on their vision and given the current price of oil, their timing could be lining up perfectly.

One of GWG’s key projects is at Steenkampskraal with their fully acquired company Rareco. There’s a great write up on the state of the project at ResourceInvestor.com. The article shows again that they have a vision in place and why they are positioned for higher margins as a result of their mine to market strategy.

As for the stock price itself, there has been a retreat from the highs. It was a substantial run up in a short period of time so the consolidation is expected. It’s possible, from a technical perspective that the stock price could continue lower to the low 70s or high 60s, however the past week has shown a stable price in the low 80s. It continues to be one I’m watching closely.

An Update On Belo Sun Mining

Back in November we had discussed Belo Sun Mining, a mining exploration company that had a nice run up from $0.41 to $0.82 which was a tidy double in price. They had some attention in the media at that time as well so it was worth mentioning. Now what are they up to? The most recent close was at $0.90 which isnâ€™t much higher than the close featured in late November. Still, a 10% return in a few months will buy a few cappuccinos even on a small sum of money.
One of their projects has recently announced some positive news. The Brazil based Volta-Grande Gold project. Belo Sun is indicating that their level of indicated gold has increased by 340,000 ounces. Their project is also currently 100% owned.

An Update On Advanced Explorations

Not so long ago, on the Canadian Penny Stocks blog we mentioned Advanced Explorations Inc. and weren’t sure of the direction the stock was going to take after the greater than 100% run up it had. Well some time has passed and it’s clear now that the direction was indeed higher. Currently trading at $0.67 and reaching as high as $0.83 this stocks is now on the watch list.

The company does a great job of keeping investors aware of what they’re doing. Great Western Minerals Reaches New 52 Week High

Great news for investors in GWG as it reaches a new 52-week high closing at $0.42 on a 15% move. This is one stock that continues to be on the watch list as a result of their potential combined with the compelling story for rare earth element companies into the future.

Chinese companies dominate the rare earth landscape and the majority of the materials are mined in China. This poses a certain amount of restriction in the market and controlled prices. So being invested in a producer isn’t a bad thing since they would be benefiting from controlled prices much like oil companies. But being outside the cartel, they can still benefit. The other factor to consider is the fact that GWG remains politically stable in its operating areas.

In the past 3 months the stock has been on a steady rise from $0.18 to the now $0.42 level. The average volumes have been high lately too indicating interest in the company. All positive signs that the good news should continue.
